Steve Blake Out 3 Weeks After Weird Accident

The Los Angeles Lakers announced that point guard Steve Blake suffered a puncture wound to his left foot after stepping on a parking lot spike strip.

Blake will be not be aloud to participate in any impact exercises for at least three weeks.

The Lakers open training camp next Monday, October 1st and their first preseason game is October 7th.

This is a very odd injury and it is still unclear how he managed to pull it off, but it is clear that it had to hurt.

Chris Duhon and Darius Morris will benefit the most from Blake's injury. They will get to split up his preseason minutes and try to earn regular season minutes.

Blake averaged 5.2 ppg, 3.3 assists and 33.5 percent from 3-point range in 23 minutes per game last year. His production, however, did pick up a bit during the playoffs, highlighted by a 19 point performance in Game 7 of the opening round series against the Denver Nuggets.
