Lakers offering Dwight Howard a TV show if he stays

The courtship of Dwight Howard has extended beyond the basketball court and possibly into Los Angeles homes on TV if Howard re-signs with the Lakers.

It has been reported that Time Warner executives will join Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, and the Lakers brass at the meeting to pitch the Lakers to Howard.  TV executives usually are not  in attendance at these type of meetings, but now it is more clear why.

According to ESPN’s Arash Markazi, Time Warner Cable and Howard have had “preliminary” talks about Howard having his own television show if he decides to return to the Lakers.

Time Warner Cable is reportedly “desperate” for original programming and could possibly assist the Lakers in their pursuit of Howard.

The NBA has no issue with Time Warner Cable being involving in the Lakers' pitch, but no extra compensation can be promised, according to a league source.
